The Beginning of an Entrepreneurial Journey

In 2000, our founders, Haiyan Huang and Junmin Wang, began their entrepreneurial journey in Yiwu. The business initially focused on fashion accessories, decorative items, and small plastic pendants.

Even at this early stage, they understood that customers were not simply purchasing functional products. They were looking for products that reflected current trends and felt visually appealing. They paid close attention to popular colors, shapes, materials, and changing consumer preferences.

This sensitivity to trends and product aesthetics later became one of Dongshun’s defining strengths.

Dongshun Toys Was Established

In 2004, Dongshun Toys was officially established, marking the company’s transition into a dedicated toy enterprise.

The company began developing and producing a wide range of toys, with a particular focus on plastic products. By working with different materials, structures, and manufacturing processes, Dongshun gradually developed broad production experience.

This flexibility allowed the team to respond to different customer needs while continuing to improve product appearance, color coordination, and manufacturing quality.

Entering the Spiky Puffer Ball Market

In 2005, Dongshun began producing Spiky Puffer Balls, a product category that was gaining attention in the international toy market.

Their bright colors, elastic texture, soft spikes, and interactive play experience created strong visual and tactile appeal. Dongshun recognized that the product’s success depended not only on function, but also on how attractive it looked on retail shelves.

Through this category, the company gained valuable experience in soft plastic materials, molding, color control, inflation structures, and high-volume production.

Manufacturing Promotional Gifts for the Beijing Olympic Games

In 2008, Dongshun participated as a manufacturer of Cheering Noisemaker for Table tennis during the Beijing Olympic Games.

The project required stable production management, consistent product quality, and strict delivery control. It also placed higher demands on communication, inspection, and coordination across the production process.

This experience strengthened Dongshun’s ability to handle large, time-sensitive orders and became an important milestone in the company’s development as a dependable manufacturing partner.

Developing More Refined Elastic-Band Toys

In 2013, Dongshun expanded the category by developing animal-shaped and cross-shaped rubber bands, along with woven rubber-band toy products.

At the time, many products on the market faced problems with unclear shapes, inconsistent production, and limited visual refinement. To improve the finished appearance, Dongshun invested in independent product and process development.

The team worked to make shapes more recognizable, colors more attractive, and mass-produced products more consistent. This project reflected Dongshun’s ability to identify industry pain points and develop its own solutions.
